Differences between the Kenwood & Excelon 2Din units?

I'm looking at the Kenwood and Excelon double din offerings. My searching has yeilded a number of options. Some seem to have Nav pre-loaded, while others have a remote nav unit. I would appreciate any input as to the pros/cons of the different offerings that your experience has yielded. The units I have seen include the DDX8019, DNX7100, DDX7019, DDX6019.

Your insights are appreciated.

The dnx7100 is a ddx7019 with built in hard-drive navigation built by garmin. The excelon unit it the ddx8019. This is similar to the ddx7019, except you get a 5 volt pre-out, 2 year warranty, some different backgrounds, and 2 hidden switches that can be programmed for garage door opener or other things. Unfortunately they don't offer an excelon unit with built-in harddrive nav. But you could buy the kna-g510 that will essentially provide the same thing.
Is one package more desirable than the other? Any real benefits to the separate nav unit, like easier upgradeability, etc.

both just as easy to upgrade...but there are some significant differeances. the 8019 will sound better if you are bulding an audio system. If you get the 8019 and get th OLDER nav (KNADV4100, 3100, 2100) you get one VERY important feature that isnt available on th enewer one...the ability to have a female voice with a UK accent guiding you :bigthumb:

as well as more information and phone number search
Thanks. I intend to follow that advice.
Thoughts on the Kenwood ddx 6019?

its cheap...and it works...

I Is there another economical unit that I can control the Ipod from? The DVD is not as important though. Future ability to install a nav is a plus. The DDX 6019also around for $550 . Although more than I wanted to spend, It won't bust the bank. Pass or fail? If not then what? Still undecided.

I finally bought the Alpine MRV 550 an MB QUART RVF 216 6-1/2" for front and rear ( which you gave a thumbs up to a while back ). Probably going with the Magic Box twin 10's.
