are there different digital dashes?

there are different design at the analogous speedos.
pre 88 and after 88.

Does this also apply to Digital Dash Boards?

o.k, the digital dash was build for RHD.
-----

What do I need for hardwireing a digital dashboard RHD to LHD?

A.) Digaital Dash (RHD)
B.) Speedometer cord and sending unit (or japanese analogous speed sensor?)
C.) Body Harness including connector for a 1jz digital dash

I've got a European MKIII, 1992,
and I have hardwired a super Monitor in it.
Now I will hardwireing a digital dashboard RHD to LHD, because..

I'm Knight Rider

yep, digi dash also changed... less notches on the 89+ one

other than that... i think the rest is the same :)

difference in 1jz dash/7m dash
a whole 2mmhg or whatever the measurement is for boost

difference in analogue 1j/7m.. 1j got voltmeter instead of oil pressure... not sure if the digi dash took on the same changes.. i.e got voltmeter on the digi dash instead of oil pressure

you need the whole speedo cable & unit i believe

and as for wiring... wouldnt have a clue lol
i guess you could get a 1jz digi dash harness + ecu and ur good to go

Good that I come from Germany and I don't understand everything you write.
---

difference in analogue 7M-GE and 7M-GTE:
7M-GE have a voltmeter instead of turbo pressure (not instead of oil pressure)

At frist, I have a MKIII 92 Turbo,
.. normaly with turbo pressure instead of voltmeter (o.k., I got both, but it's not normal)

so I need the dash with boost.

But I still don't know whether there are different Digi Dashes

She was saying differences between 1JZ-GTE and 7M-GTE, the 1JZ-GTE dash has a voltmeter instead of an oil pressure gauge, and it has an oil light instead.

Also, Digital Dashes only came for RHD cars, trying to fit them into a LHD car isn't fun, and I don't think you could ever get it to look 100% right.

I'm guessing, but I'm going to say there are 9 digital dash types:

Pre-89 7M-GE
Pre-89 7M-GTE
Pre-89 1G-GE
Pre-89 1G-GTE
89+ 7M-GE
89+ 7M-GTE
89+ 1G-GE
89+ 1G-GTE
90+ 1JZ-GTE

You're probably best off trying to find a turbocharged unit, so that cuts it down to 5 units. The Pre-89 and 89+ are cosmetically different, with less indicator points, like they did with the analog dashes, and I'm guessing the 1JZ and 1G boost gauges will read to a higher boost level. Not sure if the 1JZ-GTE digital dash will have a voltmeter or an oil pressure gauge though.

90+ 1JZ-GTE
Thanks, Jeff.

I hope there are not 9 different digital dash types.

You are right.
I try to find a turbocharged unit, but after 89
so there would be only 3 different variants.

Is there the possibility of seeing pictures of the units to be able to see the differences?

The best thing is a Digital Dash dislpaying all.

Meh, I still hate digital dashes. A lot.

My brother had an 86 GLL 300ZX, he got rid of the digital dash in that... then he got his 87 SF, which came with analog... so much better.

I love digital dashes

I would buy a Digi Dash for my MKIII MA70 7M-GTE , a turbocharged unit,

but I have no more permission to access the For Sale Sections.

I don't know why..

I need a complete Digi Dash setup, in great condition, and perfect working order with all sensors, control boxes, both dash wiring harness including connectors and the dash piece itself.

turbocharged unit 7M-GTE or 1JZ-GTE

Just so you know, they didn't offer it for LHD, so all the harnesses, and the dash itself, won't fit your car...

The Super Monitor and folding mirrors really have not much in common with this...

The actual shape is wrong. The cutout on the bottom for the steering wheel is in the wrong spot as well. It won't fit into a LHD dash without some serious modification...

Good luck. :)

I only wanted to say that I have hardwired a super monitor into my 92 MKIII.
I needed half a day...

I have several dash cases for LHD.
I think it should be possible to fit a RHD into a LHD.
I know that some serious modification is required.
But if I have all required parts,
dash wiring harness including connectors
Speedometer cord and sending unit (all sensors, control boxes)
and Digital Dash (RHD) piece itself, a turbocharged unit e.g. for a JZA70

I think it is possible.

Also the 1JZ digital dash does not have the oil pressure meter it is just blank where it would go. The one from the 1G-GTE might not have a compatible tachometer?

actually that's not a bad idea at all

i think if you get the back casing, all digital internals.. you should be able to transplant them into a lhd front casing
i have 2 digital dashes lying around... 1 is a 7mgte and one is 1ggte
i also have one digital dash harness but no speedo cable or sending unit

let me know if you want these parts :)

Do you have all the parts nessisarry? See the pictures above of the digital dash / analog dash being compared along with a LHD test fitting... those are mine. I am attempting to be the first to complete the conversion, so if I get mine done this summer which is my goal I will possably be able to help you out. If you are the first, well, then maybe you can help me out. I have all the info I need, I just need to source the parts ( What you listed ). Eitherway, I wouldn't expect mine to be done untill late summer.

I forgot it..

Can you explain me the differences between the 7M-GTE version and 1G-GTE version?
I only know, the 1JZ-GTE version has no oil pressure.
