Downpipe for T-78?

620 Views 8 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  gritsak
Is there a downpipe that you can buy that will work with the stubby downpipe that Greddy supplies with the T-78 kit? I was thinking that possible the HKS or Blitz EX Diffuser which replaces only the second (main) Converter could be used with the T-78 kit. Would this work? If not, what are people with T-78 kit using?

Thanks
Brian

I use the HKS mid-pipe on my T78 car.

Does the HKS mid pipe bolt right up to the Stubby downpipe of the Greddy kit or was there any modification that had to be done? You had to weld the O2 sensor bung in place in the HKS pipe because it doesn't come with one, does it. But other than that was it a direct bolt on?

It bolts right on. I didn't bother with the 02 sensor. I have OBD-I, it doesn't care.
I used the Blitz pipe which also bolts right up to the stubby downpipe. It is a little bigger than the HKS pipe. It is stainless also.
i also use he hks pipe, i made a flange for the o2 and had it welded on.
Opinions of the T-78

I assume you all are happy with the Greddy Kit and quality? How is the powerband compared to a TTC BPU+ car? Are all of you using a VPC or do some still have the MAF? How is the idle and driveability? Is there alot of tuning to get it to idle and run right? Sorry so many questions but am seriously thinking about getting the T-78 kit and don't want to run into any unseen snags.

Thanks
Brian
...note that Random Technology also has a midpipe, and it may be less expensive than the HK$ version...
