My project is moving along slowly, so the gas in the tank is rather old and I'd like to drain it out before starting the car again. I've read in the Toyota service manuals about a drain plug and further searching on the forums has shown it to be an M20x1.5 bolt/plug. What I'm wondering is, does this plug have a gasket on it and does that gasket need to be replaced? And is any sealant used on the threads?

IIRC there is no drain plug on the tank itself. I normally just bridge the fuel pump relay to get the pump running while the car is off. But then again I have an aftermarket fuel system.

If you are still set for stock pumps, you can just undo a line, put it into a drum and bridge the B+ and FP terminals in the DLC in the engine bay. That will turn the pump on.

I see that I've made a mistake, the MK4 does not have a drain. I will just have to jumper the relay.
