Did you route the belt correctly?

If it's yes, then make sure whatever slack is left passes the 14mm nut on the tensioner first and THEN put on your ratchet to pull the pulley down. Simply slide the belt over and release.

Sounds confusing but that's exactly right.

I had to try a few different ways seeing how it was 4 months in between when i took it off and put it back on. Then i looked at the TSRM. This pic is also helpful from google.

ok...either i'm stupid or not doing something right...maybe both. Here's as far as i can get. I can only turn my tensioner so far...then it stops/makes a click like it's hitting the end of the spring inside.

Trying to put the tensioner pulley on last won't work either...there's just not enough slack there.
