hahahh my trainer/friend/boss let me drive his car today, and all i can say is holy shit 390hp all stock, that thing is fucking fast as hell. Skitches tires off the line and through 2nd, i was amazed at the torque. The reason i was so amazed as i have not drivin anything above my supra right now, which is a genrious 250hp, non turbo, but this thing hauled ass, we even raced a turboed Prelude in the time i drove it (1 hour) and beat it OMG it was sick, makes me reconsider turboing my car, and just buying something American, though i love supras too much to do it

That thing does look sick! Saw one at a car show in the Orlando car show at the civic center. IMO, I'd rather build something to compete with the "out of the box" cars. There's nothing like having a car with 4-5k invested whipping up on 35k+ cars:cool:

O i totally agree, but it was just a surprise, but once i get my single turboed N/A ill know i will change my mind

That's an LS2 (6L) you drove if it had 390hp. They're torquey bastards for sure. Considering how dismally they're selling hopefully I can pick up a used one in a few years when I'm outta college. Personally I like the look of the LS1 (5.7L) ones but I'd sacrifice some looks for that performance.

Actually, the Ls2 GTO's have 400hp, same as the c6 vette. The Ls1 GTO's had 350hp, which too was the same as the ls1 c5 vettes.

Well he said 390 all stock so I figured he meant LS2...allstock=LS2, 390hp LS1=not all stock.

Not really new news, but they are Holden Monaros made in Australia and simply badged GTOs...Really nothing to do with being American. I've read they will be built here in 07 but I'm also reading that they are killing GTO production. Anyone know for sure?

What's so slow about the GTO? Ls1 version will run mid to high 13's and the ls2 version will run low 13's all day. Not what i'd call blazing fast, but fast nonetheless.

So if a GTO isn't fast, niether is a TT MKIV;).

Btw: Isn't the N/A MKIV a low 15 sec car? Of course a 350-400hp 13 sec GTO would feel fast.

GTO's are "peppy". A good BPU MKIV Supra will cream a GTO in a drag race.

400hp and running mid to low 13's! Thats dismal in my opinion. You have evo's,sti's,srt 4's, etc running those all day long. By the way, don't let the torque fool you. Anything is going to seem fast as hell, coming from an N/A supra. By the way, a tractor makes 1000ft lb of torque and 300hp, but it aint going anywhere.

i thought people have run 13.2s @ 107 with the 350 horse version. the 400 horse version is def. good for 12s.
