Ok I have a motor in the shop It was sent in for a rebuild. The shop magnafluxed it for cracks. One crack came back between the water jacket and the head bolt hole. Me personally would say trash the block and get a new one or better one. My engine builder says hes seen this before and said its not a big deal. I think its a big deal what do yall think???

I already know one answer, but I want you to get the best responses for you.

So, maybe you should ask it this way:
Has anyone actually had a problem from such a crack?

Has anyone actually had coolant leak up & into the head through the threads?

Has anyone actually had a BHG from such a crack?

Not speculation, but actual problems arising from this kind of crack.

Keep in mind that you may have had this crack for some time as others may have or are driving their cars with one now.

So the real question will be: has it been a problem in motors in the past?
