Edo Competition does its thing with Evo magazine's Koenigsegg
by Noah Joseph (RSS feed) on Apr 3rd 2011 at 7:02PM

Already one of the fastest cars on the road, the Koenigsegg CCR is not the first that'd spring to mind when thinking of rides that could use some additional tuning. It's already got 816 horsepower, after all, and can top out at around 245 miles per hour. What more could you want?

Well, that was before the new Agera came out. Now the previous-generation Koenigsegg suddenly seems a little outdated. So the UK's Evo magazine – a publication blessed with a garage full of supercars – brought its CCR to the folks at Edo Competition for a little... enhancement.

The tuning house known for its custom Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Porsches carefully went to work on Evo's Koenigsegg, remapping the ECU and tweaking the pair of superchargers. Then they massaged the transmission, reworked the gearing, upgraded the brakes, and enhaned the car's appearance inside and out.

The result is 891 horsepower, re-calibrated to kick in at lower revs for quicker acceleration at the expense of top end. Follow the jump for all the details in the press release and check out the high-resolution images in the mega gallery below for a closer look.
