Hello, I am running a single turbo 1jzgte with crower 272 cams and supporting mods. At idle my EGT is ~700, at cruize on the highway its ~ 1000, and at WOT it goes up to 1300 max. My probe is located after my turbine housing about a 1/4 inch. Are these readings normal? I only ask since i have never had one, and dont know anyone else with an egt.

That's fahrenheit. Those temps in clecuis would have melted something already.

Sadly, post turbo EGT temps are useless and can't be compared to anything. Pre turbo temps are the only thing that is reliable.

post turbo temps are fine, just lower than pre-turbo temps. increase it by a few hundred degrees, and it's the same as pre-turbo.

scottie, at idle i'm less than 300 degrees celsius (my greddy gauge starts at 300). driving normally, i'm around 600 degrees celsius, and wot i really haven't gone yet.

that is simply wrong. the temperature difference is NOT a linear relationship so you can not just increase it by a few hundred degrees.

pre turbo i cruse at around 1450 1500 depending on RPM.

WOT I am for a 1600F discharge and that usually takes me to a 11.5 ish A/F. At 12.3-12.8 i am usually 1675-1700 ish which is too hot for my liking. That was using the sard ECU and emanage leaving base timing alone on the sard ecu and 94 octane.

So I tune now when i tune I ensure that the ZT2 is logging both egt and A/F and make sure at WOT i'm never reeally over 11.8 and 1650 by the end of the run.

Is that good reference for our cars?

Every car is diffrent but once you start getting hotter then 1650 you start metling stuff...

You may get away with a run here and a run there at 1700-1750.
But if you keep in it more then 5 seconds I am sure you'll melt something (maybe not major but enough)

I have EGT logs form my car if anyone is intrested with A/F only thing that wasn't logged was boost...

yeah i agree with lagged.....its not going to be a precise reading back there....in general you can add a couple hundred degrees as an estimate but it wont be exact...id say if you leave your sensor where its at......you wouldnt want to go over 1300 just to be on the safe side.
