Emergency Mode until warm ???

For some reason my car seems to be starting up in emergency mode when it's cold. When I hit the gas there's a 1/2 second delay before the engine speeds up and it sounds like crap, and feels very rough. Sorta sounds like the fuel is cutting out or something also. This has been happening for a few days now. If I turn the car off and then start it back up after it's fully warmed up then it runs fine. My trac/check engine lights have been on for a long time. I also a coolant leak... every 2000-3000 miles I'm losing all coolant, cant find where the leak is... I don't know if those are related but I just thought I'd mention them in case it rings a bell. Nothing else has really changed in a long time; I can't think what it could be. Any idea?
