I've done some reading, but no-one has really talked anything about the use of an engine girdle together with billet main caps. I would think that this would be the ultimate setup for this motor, but would they work together? Would I have to skim the crest of the billet caps so they sit flush? Would the assembly clear the oil pan and baffle with the longer main studs? Is it possible that the girdle would reduce the effectiveness of the billet main caps?

Interesting. If it could be done or has been done then it should be called the Swartzenegger setup. Lol.

From what has been discussed, people have been using one or the other. IIRC, billet mains have been used more than the girdle to date, but I don't have detailed quantitative proof.

Even if you installed both of these components, something will be the next weakest link.

Weren't there people having problems with the mild steel girdles, and the washers sinking into the steel causing odd torque readings? I seen a few pictures of the girdle mvp was selling and it seem'd like a great girdle, i was just surprised they went with mild steel and not something slightly harder. Especially considering how much torque guys are using with the arp hardware.

Funny, the MVP girdle was precisely the one I was looking at. Good info, good info. Anyone like to chime up that have actually used the MVP girdle? Anyone use it in unison with the billet mains?
