I have a 1987 7m-ge that I picked up really cheap, I was told it had been sitting for a while but started off and on with no problems.
Blah, Blah, Blah, I have it towed home and I drain all the fluids (gas,oil, water) and replace the filters, spark plugs, plug wires, ignition coil, distributer cap and button, fuel pump, new vaccume lines, hoses, serpentine belts, and valve cover gaskets. I primed the engine to get oil pressure up, then I start it. What it does is cranks up And goes to 1200 rpm and knock,knock,knock,knock, as it falls to 400 rpm then dies.
The knock is coming from the top front of the engine, any Ideas?
A fellow supra owner suggested it being a rocker problem or maybe something loose near the cams. I need help reviving this beauty, Thanks.
