Has anyone noticed the Engine Serial Number on their engine block whilst the engine was out of the car? The Engine Serial Number is located just to the top of the oil filter location. This question would be related to those who still have the original engine in their car. I would like to know if the serial number you have on that block is the same number as the car's VIN number. If it's not, does that number contain part of the VIN of the car. I'm really curious to know, and the Toyotas around me are clues about this (gee, what a surprise). If you have a JDM, also I would like to know what you've observed.
