MSD makes their own version as well....

There's no way I would pay the price tag for the HKS DLI.

Yes you could use the AEM CDI, however I would never put one on my car. They have had multiple problems with them. Everything from burning out, to catching on fire.

The HKS DLI is a little more expensive, but you are paying for a product that has been proven to be reliable and make 1000+ hp while still using the stock coil packs.

They make the CDI systems for Motec (all save for the CDI-8) and they also sell it under thier own name.

IMO, no. Both the AEM CDI and the MSD DIS 2/4 system have been proven to fail. I have no experience with M & W, so I can't speak to that product, although I have yet to see a better product than the HKS DLI at or below its price. You do not need to be a Pro Dealer to sell the DLI. Contacting an authorized HKS dealer will usually get you a much better price than the factory MSRP, FWIW.

If you want the best, HKS. If HKS is not you cup of tea, then the others will do, at least for a bit.... There's a reason why AEM dealers like WOTM and SP recommend the HKS DLI.

Is this a necessary mod at 600 crank hp ?
Would any lost hp be found at the 600 mark by using the dli ?
