Ok, quick summary on the car...
1995 NA 5speed Toyota Supra 60k miles
-Repainted s2000 silver (was red)
-Stainless steel brake lines
-Slotted and drilled rotors
-New master cylinder and brake booster
-New A/C unit (cold as a witches titty)
-KYB AGX front and rear shocks
-17" turbo wheels
-Turbo Subwoofer

There are some minor things like scratches and such but nothing bad, over all its really clean. The only thing I was worried about is a squeeky noise that the clutch makes. At idle, when the clutch pedel is NOT pressed is makes this sqeeky noise when if you depress the pedel it stops as soon as the flywheel and the clutch separate. You can hear it in this vid...http://media.putfile.com/The-noise92
Can anyone tell me what that is and if its serious?
I drove the car and i must say i was impressed for it being an NA. It was my first time to drive a supra and it was a blast. Clutch felt nice, tranny went into gear fine(no grinding) and the girl had some grunt down low. Engine idle was smooth and no smoke at all.

Pics in next post....

I remember the first drive in my 95 se 5spd @ 47k miles... felt like a dream, the engine whine was almost orgasmic (yes, even missing a turbo!).

fast forward 3 years and I was TT BPU, fast forward 3 more and I am now single turbo and in the process of installing my 6spd, new flywheel and clutch, new axle and new 6spd rear end.

If you plan on doing what I did, make sure you have lots of $ and tons of patience on hand!

One thing I would worry about is the quality of the paint though, on the paint chips, can you clearly see the red paint underneath? If so, if that thing starts flaking off, you're gonna end up with a silver car with red polka dots :faint:

Looks like good deal to me, better jump on it. 60K is low mileage, plus you don't have to worry about a paint job. The noise is definately the throw out bearing. Its not hurting anything just annoying. Just have it taken care of when you get a new clutch.
Also might want to check rear upper control arms condition and rear wheel bearings. ( Jack up rear , grab the tire at opposite sides and see if there is any play in the wheel when you wiggle it back and forth. These kind of problems are usually seen closer to the 90K mark but you can look into it if you want. Don't wait long to decide because there is always someone else who wants a Supra close behind.

Also, I noticed while i was under the car that the exhaust splits into two different resonators somewhere after the header and then join again at the muffler. Whats the idea with that? I think you can sort of see it in this pic....

its generally a dual exhaust design but meant to be much lighter because it goes to a single tip. the tt stock exhaust is similar but with no extra resonators.

also... i noticed he did a lot of brake work to a stock car w/ those miles. ask him why? its a bit unusual cause you said new cylinder and brake booster.

-Stainless steel brake lines
-Slotted and drilled rotors
-New master cylinder and brake booster

other than that id go for it. it reminds me of my car when i first bought it and it was such a memory. good luck!

it was actually a little over 2 years and I had to save up for the turbo conversion twice, cause my damned thief cousin racked up $4,000 in cell phone bills over 2 months - no lie... lol but that's another story.

my 5spd lasted me 30,000 miles at BPU levels and 3,000 single turbo - untuned, running no more than 450rwhp. It broke 3 days after a 600 mile abusive trip to tampa for a meet.

/thread hjacking :)

after a while that noise will get alot louder. it will bug the shit out of u when u go through drive throughs and if ur close to a wall or another car while ur a light. my integra was like that. wasnt really loud until another 10k then it bug the shit out of me. it cost me 800 for them to put in new bearings. but i dont know much it will be for a supra

It's the throwout bearing...mine is making the same noise, but I'm due up for a new clutch VERY soon, so I'm going to replace that while I'm at it.
I used to have that noise too before I changed my clutch when I went TT. I took care of it with silicone spray... Just make sure you don't spray too much that it will get onto your fw/clutch disk/pp surfaces for obvious reasons. A few sprays with that little red straw should take care of it for quite a while. That squeak was annoying as all hell.

edit: ACTUALLY I JUST REMEMBERED!!! The silicone spray only worked for about a month at a time, but notice how the noise goes away the moment you begin putting any pressure on the clutch fork. What I did was that I bought a long spring from home depot, I wrapped one end of it on the clutch fork and I ran the other end through the tranny mount and attached it to itself. That spring creating a very light pressure was enough to make the squeak go away for good. It might seem ghetto, but it worked.

As long as it isnt a warning to a huge mechanical failure im ok with it. I forgot to mention also that it doesnt do it when the clutch is engaged in gear with the car rolling. So if its just at idle im not gonna loose sleep over it.
