Driving down a road the other night a guy stopped me and said he saw a flame come out of my tail pipe! Could this be true, what would of caused it? At first I bugged out then I realized that the road was very bumpy and that maybe he just saw a few sparks and a mean ass car and thought that maybe it was a flame from the exhaust? Dont know but maybe one of you guys does!

Appreciate any comments,
Thanks

I you are downshifting, or if you are petal to the metal you can see fire in between shifts. Its because our cars run rich and the fire is the unburned gas in the exhaust that is being ignited. With a down pipe this is common.
No stress it looks great believe it no not some people put spark plugs in there exhaust to get this effect.

Do you have a downpipe? If you've eliminated catalytic converter(s), it's normal to get flames on some occasions. Nothing to worry about.

If a cop saw the flame coming out... would he pull you over and know something is wrong? "Here in Florida, taken' out them cats i say is illegal."
