Alright i did some searching and i according to MKIV.com any aftermarket flywheel is supposed to make some noise i guess. Well i just got an RPS Clutch and RPS Flywheel installed on my tt supra. It is Soooo damn loud and gets louder if i use a/c or headlights. If im only going like 45 and i give it gas in 5th or 6th it sounds like a loud sorta grinding noise and sounds like i have exhaust... which i dont yet.. Anyways I was just wondering if thats normal or if there is anyway to quiet the noise a bit. Just bothers me alot cause when im cruising around its kinda embarrising cause it sounds like something is broken in the engine or something cause its so loud, that i just wanna hold the clutch in all the time to make it not sound like that.
Also...
Had toyota install both components.

Any info is greatly appreciated...

Mine shakes and rumbles when I'm going too slow to be in such a high gear. Basically the car can't pull when you are let's say in 5th or 6th gear and only at like 2300rpm. You can't expect the engine to rev and pick up speed. You have to downshift into the appropriate gear.

I'm a 5-speed for any references. Cruising around towns/cities where the speed limit is 25mph I'm always in 3rd gear. If I put it in 4th or 5th, it's fine if I stay at around 25mph. But if I try to give it gas, the car'll shake. I have to go back down to 3rd and give it gas, then shift upto 4th or 5th and continue to cruise.

Not sure if that's what you are experiencing, but that's my 2 pennies.

maybe they installed it improperly

as far as what michaelvanle stated...thats normal for those sounds to occur. Doesn't matter what clutch / flywheel combo. If you in the wrong gear and the engine revs are too low, the car will rumble, shake, and make a low, rumble exhaust sound.

BTW...did you have the release and throw-out bearing replaced?? Pressure plate replaced?

Ya it the Stock Clutch disk i think with the RPS Pressure Plate/Rps Cyn-R-Ge or whatever Flywheel. I had the all the bearins/bolts/washer brackets things replaced. I handed them all the parts.

I would get a shop to check it all out. You are not the first person who has had toyota install an aftermarket clutch or flywheel and have had issues.

I installed the same system about 6 months ago. I knew in the beginning to expect noise and chatter. Overall, it has been better than I expected. I raised the idle to a little over 1K and it helps alot. After driving for awhile, it starts to clank at idle, and a little noise at low rpm cruising. This is what you get, and the drawbacks, or offset to gaining the quick spool and extra HP. I may take it out later when I done trying to get to the 500 mark.

I have the same flywheel as you, and under load below 3,000 rpms I get kind of a high-pitched rattlling sound. Plus, when I have the car in neutral with the lights or AC on it is really annoying. Sounds like the same thing you are experiencing - I don't think there is anything wrong with your installation.

... I have rps synergy flywheel...

when the ac opens up... it gets louder... when im accelerating ... about like 1000-1500 rpm the rattling goes away.... crusing at 2,500 no rattling.

It just takes some getting used to man

There is a chance it could be a problem, but usually not if it was installed right.

The stock flywheel which has the "dual mass dampening" dampens out the noise. Other flywheels don't dampen out the vibrations so you hear the noise. Take your pick.

I have the RPS Stage 3 and the Fidanza Flywheel. I have some rattling issuses as well, but only at idle and under 1000-1300 RPM's. It's loud as crap, even louder after giving it hell, but fun none the less! I get a lot of looks at stop lights from people thinking my car is about to fall apart. It's funny actually. But this set up has helped a lot, my revs hardly drop and I tend to rev a lot faster. Gears tend to slam in place rather then just slide in. The noise is the last thing I'm worried about. As stated above, it just takes some getting used to.

Many people claim it goes away if upping the idle rev to 1k to 1.3k.
You should consider a sprung hub clutch next time because it also dampens the noise a bit. Also be sure to replace all bolts, bearings, etc with new ones and be sure everything is torqued to the Toyco/RPS specs.
