I am planning on removing the lower grille section of my 89+ bumper, and wanted to know if/how anyone else supported the bottom lip so it wouldn`t sag. I searched, but didn`t find a clear answer/suggestion.

Thought about reinforcing w/ f/g on the back side; shape some foam (i.e. old bumper absorber);....

Thanks in advance.

get a good length of L-shape aluminium. Not too thick though. and mount it in there. L profile hardly bends, and if it does it's probably for a reason (i.e. pedestrian safety ;) )

I cut a board down to fit inside the edge of the bumper and support that part. Then I coated the board with paint to seal it up. It will rot eventually but it will take quite a while.

I took the grille out on my 91 turbo because of my fmic and then i realized it kinda bent into a v shape. Maybe a piece of aluminum will work to keep it even. I'll have to try that.

I know, just thought i'd edit it anyway, not trying to offend anyone. It's just that it's about 3.30 in the morning over here and i need sleep lol.

Anyway, the board id is ok, but it'll probably bend anyway i think
