has anyone welded on a whole front clip on their car? how reliable is that?

i think he means take a totalled (front end collision) car and slice it apart at the dash, and weld on a front clip ??

I do it quite often and it is not for the DYI person. It takes skill and knowledge to do such a task. The first time i ever did it i made so many mistakes my teacher redid the whole job, back then i didnt know why he did what he did but today i can only laugh at my self. If you do decide to do it just take your time and make sure everything is lined up perfectly and measure!!

i plan on taking it to a body shop, just wanted to know if it would be strong enough and if anyone here has done it. i don't want to be driving on the freeway one day and see my front end pass right by me. lol
