Just wondering how you have the DB9 cable connected to your laptop.

I have an IBM thinkpad as well (R51) and can not get the usb-to-serial adapter to work correctly with my ms2 v3.0 board.

All I have been able to do so far in the assembly is get it hooked up to my desktop using just a D9 connection.

Thanks for any help...

I specifically bought a cheap laptop that had a serial port specifically for this, so I didn't have to worry about a usb adapter. works perfectly with the serial cable though. from what I've heard the usb adapter cable is kind of hit or miss for working.

I don't mean to hi-jack the thread, but...

Try using a different brand of usb-to-serial adapter. I deal with customers using them and you'd be suprised how much difference brand makes.

yeah, from what I hear the connection with a usb adapter is hit or miss, depends which type you're using.

quick update:
MS board is sold, MHG is tentatively sold, everything else still up for sale.
