I was wodering what the circled part is and what it does.
I know that the pump has rust on it and thats why its getting replaced along with a bypass of the fuel pump ecu since it burned out and I cant replace it (the entire trunk is fiberglass).

Well in that case, is there any wire that I can ground on the hanger itself and then from the hanger on top and out of the tank to the body?

You can ground the negative on he fuel pump to the hanger and then run a ground to the top of the pump if needed.

Interesting that some dont have it and I do..

Oh well. Guess its part of the hack job na-tt conversion by the previous owner.

Well what I decided to do is drill a hole in the hanger, put a bolt through it, have the head of the bold welded to the hanger, put a nut with one of those weird washers that have "teeth" and the ground wires to the pumps that i'm putting in.

Then on top, do the same thing but the head of the bold will be inside and the thread outside. That way, I can run a wire from the hanger to good body ground and be done with it. Also, at the same time not worry about fuel leaking when it splashes on the would be hole and so on.
