Hi guys, a friend of mine is considering turboing his 2jz-ge and we wonder.. what are the differences block and head wise? Is the head the same on the 2JZ as it is with the 7M's?

2jzgte uses cam position sensor's(2) and a coil on plug set-up on the head,not a distributor with plug wire's.the block has oil squirter's to help lube the piston skirt's.it also has oil feed/return provision's in the block and pan.the head also has different port spacing,so manifold's can't be swapped.i'm sure you can find plenty of thread's with n/a-t conversion's.

the GE also has a MUCH thinner head gasket than the GTE- IIRC .2mm on the GE and 1.6mm on the GTE

1.2mm GTE.

the head can be bolted on but alot of things are different. the intake manifold and exhaust manifold bolt paterns are also different.
