ugly rims and some paintjobs are a bit to much:dunno:

+1. He gets a little to eccentric with his paint jobs and rim designs sometimes. For example, look at the first pic in this thread.

 

The guy has skills as an auto designer, but his customization of cars consists of...

lowered stance, 2 tone paint job, and cheezy wheels. Doesn't appeal to me at all.

I've seen him design some clean cars and I've also seen him design borderline rice-mobiles..

 

^2nd. Im not saying that I could do better but everyone has days. Sometimes Chip is on and other days...nah so much

 

Hemisphere? Yes please. But as for every other car, i completely agree with the above. Two tone, lowered, wheels. That's about it. Maybe i need to check out some of his other work besides what is on Overhaulin'.

 

I really wish he would think outside the box with his wheels though. Or at least vary his style with them. I mean even when he does custom wheels he makes them look like old wheels that have been done to death.

Overall I don't mind most of his car designs, but they do seem to be somewhat one dimensional.

I like his work. He is very good at what he does and you have to look at the vehicles he has done outside of Overhaulin. But I have to agree he does to much two tone. Not a fan of that at all.

 

There's no denying he has artistic talent, but the man has terrible taste.

Ehh, I feel like he's so popular because he puts out cars that the non-enthusiast population finds attractive aka hotwheels cars... Shiny multi-tone paint, bulging muscle car hood, and oversize flashy wheels make it onto every car. Everyone loves classic muscle cars and few have good taste when it comes to modifying automobiles. Thats exactly what he deals in.

 

i dig it overall...he has nice attention to the little details that go unnoticed until u sit two of the same cars side by side. changes in light fixtures, bumpers, shaven this and that..the little knick knacks that make a huge difference

 

My opinion is that he looks like Gumby in the first pic.

Some of his stuff is real nice and some is craptastic.

 

he's obviously has amazing talent. i think some of his cars look like crap because that's what the CUSTOMER wants. i don't think i've seen a car that he has brainstormed for himself/company that hasn't been beautiful. that P32 is A-MAZING!!!!!

 

I think he is an amazing artist. Thats one thing I know for sure. I think what he does with newer cars is awesome. But sometimes I just want to shoot myself

 

I admire his work. He sticks to a style that everyone can recognize as his work hence why he's pretty well off. He gets a thumbs up from me for being a hardcore automotive enthusiast.
