Hey guys

Well I've searched but found lot of info but nothing concrete, so here's what I want to know. I am in the process of putting a T61 into my car and will be running a MAP ECU. Which wideband would suit me best. I would like to have a real-time display and be able to connect it to the map ecu to have data logging.

Question number 2 is do I really need an extra oil cooler? Where would I go about getting one since I heard that the Blitz is discontinued.

And question 3 is what trans oil cooler do I need exactly. I see all diferent kinds out there but don't know exactly which one to go with.

Thanks

WB is really a matter of price and preference. All WBs have 0-5v output so they can be logged using the MAP ECU. People really like the FJO but it is a little pricey. I personally went with the AEM WB gauge. Its a nice unit, decently priced and it is packaged in a 52mm gauge with a very easy readout.

As for the oil cooler, its not a must.

Tranny coolers are though if you are running a built auto/high stall combo. Just go with a cheap cooler since they are all very similar. I personally went with the B+M one for sixty something dollars. Just make sure to order the right fittings with it.

There is one called "perma-cool" (I think thats the name) they are pretty inexpensive and come with an assortment of fittings, which should include the ones you need to make it work.

I'd say your wideband choice will depend on your choice of gas. The NTK sensor in the FJO kit holds up well to leaded gas, and they have a 2 1/16 display also. As for the oil cooler, I'd say no, unless you're road racing. A trans cooler is a must, especially if you have a big stall.

I have 2 WB.
First for every day use and this is GREDDY A/F Ratio Gauge.
Second LM1 from Innovate Motorsport and it has perfect, absolutly ferfect dataloging system. So you can ride around and than you can set same matrix like in MAP-ECU (RPM & BOOST) and the LM1 tells you A/F Ratio in every situation and can calculate correct coeficient for cerecting your number for same cell in MAP-ECU and this is perfect. You can do same work on the street like somebody ond dyno with hig experience.

That was actually something that I was looking at very closely. Maybe Dusty can chine in on this one...but I've heard differences between LM4 and LM1...what are they exactly.

Also is there a way to minitor the a/f ration in real time while driving just by using the Innovative unit or do I need a separate unit.

Thanks

Yes if you have LM1 you can watch online at the unit, and you can set to monitor at Lambda % or A/F ratio. I have the LMA-2 kit and this includes RPM conveter and another analog input. Now i ca see graphs in time, rpm, boost, a/f & everything what has analog output. My unit was send directly from Innovate to my country in 5 days including time for wire transfer!

You can also buy gauge but only at 52mm diameter

Innovate is a great idea for tuning knowledge! And they said "Knowledge is HorsePower" Innovate also cooperates with Ben Strader, owner of EFI university.

Nobody can go wrong with LM1 !!!
