I am curious about what is available for a GT45 t4 style / size turbo that is not DBB? Basically I want the same power as a gt45 but don't want the price of the DBB model.

I basically want a GT42/45 sized t4 turbo that will max on c16 around 1100-1200 rwhp on a 3.4 6sp with all supporting mods but don't want to pay ~$3k for a turbo.

Thanks!

just considering going with new tech and getting a spool valve. Roadcourse shut down in my area.
We're in the same boat. I've been looking into the Borg Warner S400 series. The turbine housing is between the GT42 & 45 and they offer a ton of compressor/turbine sizes to suit your needs. I gave up on a divided GT47 housing, I found them but too pricey. I can get a whole turbo from B/W with a T6 divided housing for the same price... ridiculous

Edit: They have divided T4 housings as well...

My suggestion would be to go with a Bullseye Power S380 Billet w/ Race Cover. Same physical size at the GT45, makes more power, and its easily serviceable for the life of the turbo.

The BEP S380 is essentially a BW S400 with a custom compressor wheel and more turbine housing and wheel options.

BTW there are new BorgWarner turbochargers coming out soon which I cannot post too many details about which are direct competition with the GT42/45/47/55. Just throwing that out there. :) I got to fondle one last week and it was amazing.

I got wind of that as well but I assumed they were larger EFR units. They already have the S400 and S500 series that compares to the Garrett units, whats different about these?

well from what i was told, the S3xx-S4xx-S5xx are getting the dual ball bearing CHRA. now as far as the wheels, the S4xxbillet wheel is only available right now in the 76mm,80mm and 88mm . there is a 6 blade LI Low Inertia wheel avalable for the 78mm S4xx. a 75m GTX Billet wheel weighs in at 267 grams, the 78mm LI wheel weighs 259 grams.
