Be honest, you know you're the one who did it :p

I dunno man, I think the PS reservoir will have to be replaced, probably the pump and all the hoses... Basically, the whole system... But dont worry, the car is fine with out pwr steering... You'll build your fore arms up, I mean, HE will build his fore arems up :D
well it wasnt me this time, fortunately.....honestly...but yea, its some sealing stuff that he got and just dumped it in, im not sure but couldnt the system be flushed?
Something that could eat through that gum will most likely eat through the lines too. He's better off leaving it how it is or taking PS out completely. Cost me just over $1400 to fix my ps because it had a bad rack and pump.

A new pump costs about $150, a new rack costs about $150, the hard line costs $50, and all of the soft lines put together aren't more than $10.
You got served.
High Pressure PS hoses: $156
Belt: $79
Steering rack: $475.00

That's directly from my reciept ^ :\
im thinking that maybe ill have him pressurize some antifreeze and BLAST IT into the res. maybe that will work...
try flushing it with ps fluid and see how much shit you can clear out, you will soon find out if it ate through the lines and shit, but try flushing it out before you spend ~800 for all the new ps stuff.
well we just flushed out the system with about half a quart of PS fluid alot of that gunk came out but its still pretty stiff, it wasnt like a corrosive sealant (oxymoron) but it was like a thick pink headgasket sealer i think it was..i ll go check the can..
okay the can says its a silicate based sealer, aka sand so i think the pink shit that it was in is just a thick gear oil.....hmm this could not be as bad as it looks!
keeep flushing it, more stuff should come out, lol and if it doesnt, and you gotta get a new ps and shit, lesson learned for your freind eh? lol

Our Power Steering system does not use PS Fluid, it uses dexron/dexron II ATF.

AGlobalThreat: Hi, Toyota? I need a dome lightbulb.
Toyota: Ok, that'll be $77.89, cash or credit?
AGlobalThreat: ok, credit.

hopefully he knows that lol. but i think when he put ps fluid he was reffering to dexron II,
Yea the price didn't matter for me cuz my mom was paying it as a bday present. So shes the one that got raped

Yea I miss my no-ps days... drifting was so much more controlled...

U said it perfect, u can feel the road more, thats why several people LIKE having no ps.

My rack close to the same price above with PPS solenoid. However, the high pressure hose was $48 from AutoZone (special order) and the belt was $18 I think.
I had a power steering leak and i couldnt find it for the life of me, so i went to toyota and asked if they could find it. Welll they lift the car and look around for a few minutes while i was under there by that time i had already found that it was a hose that some how had exploded or something. So i figured i would let them look and see what they told me. Well a few minutes later they come to me and tell me that my rack and pinion is shot and that it will be $1,300 without labor and that i had a bad oil leak. Needless to say my car only needed a hose that was 10 bucks and didnt have a oil leak.
