you should definitely go down to Pearl Harbor and see the Arizona Memorial, it is really the only modern American battlefield within the 50 states and is quite chilling to see in person.

Beyond that, most of the good stuff requires local knowledge. Find a map and drive up to the northern part of the island, around the north shore. It is where all the big wave surf competions are held, but is largely small surf, if any, this time of year. There are a lot of neat things to see, and food to be had.

Do a search on "matsumoto's shave ice, haleiwa"

it's the best shave ice (snow cone) you'll ever have. Also out that way is the dole plantation and the world's largest hedge maze.
