i went to do the heater hose mod.

1. i initially did it backwards(did i harm the system some how by doing this)

2. i had the car running for a few short minutes before i realized i did that.

3. swapped the hoses as how it should normally be, thought ok great im done. knowing i lost some coolant i let run for a few added a little bit(maybe i should did a full bleed)

4. drove not even mile down the road, cars temps started going up, opened hood steam all in the back side( not sure how think it had a small leak...)

at this point im annoyed, today i put everything back to factory filled radiator and let the car idle....now my current problem, had a filler neck thing on the radiator cap so coolant shouldn't spill over....car started overheating again and steam started coming from the radiator cap...unless im totally stupid shouldnt the T-stat have opened.

Sounds like you didn't burp the system the first time. Make sure the front end is jacked up and heater is on high (temp turned up). It won't go thru the heater core otherwise.

When the T-stat opens, it allows hot coolant to run to the radiator. Sounds like it's open.

I would put the Autozone hoses back on.
