There is a plastic piece that holds this rod in place used to pull up, release the latch, and lay down the rear seat back. It's missing and I am having a hard time trying to find where I can get one if anyone can help.

Toyota sells it individually. I had to replace mine years ago. I'll try to find the part # for ya.

Can't find the Toyota part # right now, but autoparts stores have the Door Lock Rod Clips, like this: Dorman Door Lock Rod Clips

It might be one of these Toyota parts: 69759-24010, 69759-24020, 69759-20020, 69759-20030

Wow, thank you so much. I've come across some that were similar for other cars like in door lock actuators but was unable to match them up. I really appreciate it.
