I am just looking around at all these HID kits. I am wondering this.... all the kits run at a certain temperature (the bulb i mean)... is this temperature much higher than the stock bulb?... what about those new stage II HID kits? Do these systems produce much more heat or not, because if they do then is it perfectly safe to have these 3200K and 6000K kits in a stock housing?
Those numbers that you mention are color temperatures, not heat temperatures. the higher the number the more white, and the more brilliant it is. Xenon HID lights tend to run cooler than stock, and much much cooler than Halogen look-a-likes.
