how important or detirimental is high mileage, like 80k+ on a tt? even if it is "highway miles", isnt it STILL 80,000 miles on the car? what can i expect from the engine. i hear the turbos need replacing at about 90+k. thanks for the help.

Mileage is mileage, but highway miles are a little better since you've had fewer starts and stops. My mkiv has almost 160k miles and I have stock turbos and the compression checks fine. I think the life of the turbos depends heavily on maintenance (oil changes) and running stock boost.

I think the main thing to worry about is...how many miles are you going to tell your insurance company you have driven...told them I went 25000 miles....whoops....we gotta raise next years rate by 2k. :(
