HKS T51r kai Vs SP67GT-HO?

Which turbo would perform better in the 1/4 mile? Considering both cars have been modified equally and are manual transmission.....:)

T51R KAI will make more power, period. Granted it spools later you will have to worry about the hole shot. Probably rev to 6-6500 and slip, needless to say you will have to get a nice clutch to do so.

The HKS T51KAI is closest in comparison to an SP70GT. They both use a 70mm compressor wheel.

Ranger thanks for the info. Saves me from looking up the specs. Seems like you considered both turbo's. I'm not sure where you got the 671whp rating but I do know a friend of mine has dynoed well into the 700 range without the aid of N20.

No doubt that a SP67GT-HO would perform:)

hks seems to underrate their turbos by a decent amount. if a 70mm turbo can only flow just over 650rwhp thats not very good, and they rate the monster 76mm SPL at 850 wheel.

IMO if youre willing to sacrafice some spool of the 67 to go with the potential power of that 70, i would suggest you look into the 71 gtq's with the .81 a/r. they spool extremely well for the size they are and im rather confident they will out power the *relatively* outdated hks KAI.
