How do I wire in an amp just for a single sub?

I was thinking of just cutting the factory red and black wires going to the OEM amp and run them through the amp to the sub.
Could this work? Is there an easier or better way?
Thanks in advance

I know somone knows.
You need to wire the amp to your battery and your head unit needs pre-amp outputs for the signal to the amp. What head unit do you have and how many channels is your amp?

I have the stock 94 turbo supra head unit. I am going to leave all speakers but the sub hooked up to the factory amp.
The new amp is 100 by 2 I think.
Hope this helps.

Thanks

An aftermarket amp gets its power directly from the cars battery. It gets its signal from an aftermarket Head Unit through RCA cables. You can hook up an amp to a stock Head Unit but it requires splicing in to wires and getting certian hard ware.

What certain hardware do I need? Splicing is no problem just as long as it works good and works for a long long time.
