I'm having a problem removing my rear hatch rubbers. I've tried to remove the bolts, but, they seem to be pretty stubborn. I've even tried spraying some WD-40 in there with no success. Do any of you guys have any hints? Thanks in advance. Mike D. ;)

Why are you removing them? If all you want to do is fix hatch rattle, put some spacers on the hatch side, leave those quarter panel soft bolts alone.

did you get new ones, i have been looking to replace mine (mkiv.com says toyota redesigned some news ones) and cannot find them anywhere. can you please give me the part # or tell me where you got them

Mikey here what u need to do
1)- There is a washer type thing around the screws that u kinda need to flatten a little bit ( make sure u don't hurt the paint).
2)- Hold the screw with a Vise Grip and move it side to side, few mm'a at a time until it starts moving.
3)-Toyota has used a Loctite that's not easy to break it. So by holding the screw and moving it few mm's at a time u won't have any problem at all.
Good-Luck Yasir (Let me know how it went)

Yeah, the rubber pieces you are talking about were getting very old and deteriorating on my car so I decided to replace them. I ordered 2 new ones from Toyota and when I went to pull the old ones out, completely stripped all four screws. The screwdriver just ripped the the head like butter. Unfortunatley I had to have a local interior shop drill them out. But everything is all good now.

No problem man, the part number is TOY6729314051, $6.61 a piece, good luck man.
I haven't needed to replace mine yet, but I recall reading a technique that sounded good to me.

Since the screws are locked in with Loctite or whatever and are so difficult to remove without breaking or stripping, the suggestion was to use a dremel tool with a little circular saw bit to cut away the plastic/rubber bumper so then you can grab the whole screw body with a good vice grip and it'll come out easily.

Thanks guys, Mike D.;)
There are two secrets to doing this job easily.
1. Apply some heat to the screw heads with a hair dryer. Helps break the loctite loose.
2. Use an impact screw driver to break the screws loose. You can purchase an impact screwdriver at lots of auto parts stores and or Sears Roebuck.

Good luck.
