the reason i asked is because my guage popped up to 105 celcuis today. i think i have a messed up radiator cap. i noticed that i could hear bubbling from cap after i turned off car. heat was not sustained heat but i noticed at a light that my warning came on. its set at 100 degrees.

thanks for the reply drjonez. i just checked since the car was hot and the level in the radiator went down and the level in the overflow stayed the same. cap isn't popping. now how hot can it get standing. what i mean by that is with the motor off and coolant not flowing through the radiator. also what is the normal operating temp of car.
