Know someone who paid 4 grand shipped for one from Canada. Have two others who want to buy them(local guys in MD considering doing the swap) and was wondering how much and where you got them from please. Basically the front clip of the car shipped.

Thanks

Man, great prices.

I got my first clip in Dec. 98 from Soko which ran perfectly, but was 2800 shipped to HI. Been getting them from as low as 1200.00 to 3200.00 since then. Might be going to the track at Capital raceway Friday to get some seat time in for the November 9th Import vs Domestics at MIR. Anyone want to convoy?

I'm really looking into this as well...I REALLY would like to know where you guys got one for $1200...

I'm planning on buying a clip from either JARCO or Japan Direct. Both have the same warrenty available, Japan Direct offers an extended warrenty. JARCO, though, apparently even has God's support and good opinions. Only company I've heard ill from is Venus...they're cheap, but they give you what JARCO does, plus seats and a few other things from time to time...it's a hit/miss thing.

At the moment Japan Direct has a clip that I really want, so they're number one on my list at the moment....even though it's very likely that this clip was one JARCO thought wasn't worth bringing over.

Keep in mind that if you do things right you can damn near break even. Selling the dash, guages, suspension, fenders, bumper, etc. and your old engine and tranny will make you a pretty penny.

you will not make your money backe selling the dash and guages and whatnot. the dash and guages dont fit us cars.

you might get $1000 for your old engine and all of the extra crap you dont need from the clip. if your lucky.

i have 2 clips f/s btw, one has rear diff(torsen), clean body panels, bilstein susp., fujitsubo exh., plus other misc stuff. it is a 5sp turbo R model. 68,000km
$3200

another is basically just the engine swap with frame rails around it. comes with cluster, motorset, i/c. ,etc. that one is $2100. has 89,000km

i usually sell these locally, but i posted here to give you an idea.

I'm simply looking for the best deal on a 7MGTE clip-
I've got an 88' NA, and I've got what I suspect is light rod knock (which hasn't gotten better OR worse in 8,000 miles...) and I'd like to use the opportunity to upgrade to some actual power.
I live right next to JARCO, but was curious Wht kind of deals you guys have seen of the 7MGTE clip- Thanks, and sorry for the ever-so-slight highjacking.

True you won't make back the full clip price but I made back almost $2000 US off the stuff I had to sell (with reasonable estimates for the 3-4 parts that are left)

There is a lot more than you think...

7M-GTE longblock, CT26, 7M alt, 7M PS pump, 7M IC and piping, exhaust, 7MGTE harness, 7M ECU, ignitor, R154 trans, 88 rear subframe and diff, 88 rear brakes, '92 clip front brakes, 1 full set of struts and springs, front hubs off the clip, clip body panels that are usable, misc switches, clip shifter, clip headlights and cans, drive shaft, clip control arms, 7M rad, 7M fuel pump, clip hood struts, clip hood liner, etc... etc... etc...

My situation might be a bit different than some (as I was pulling a decent 7M with only a BHG) but eh... you can still sell a lot if you're willing to take the time to do it.

I live in Tampa and was recently in a warehouse in Miami that had the Soarer front clips every where, and another small warehouse full of 2500 engines... i was like fuck!.....front clip was ~2000 they work out deals if you come pick up
... cant remember what the engines themselves went for....

but if you can make it to Miami and move it yourself you can get really good deals..

people still buy all of that crap? you cant get that much for that stuff. who buys used engines with bhg's? that is cool that you got that much but that is a rare occurence indeed.

That's why you swap before your engine craps out.

People will buy anything. Hell, if I can get $2 for used brake rotors I'd rather do that than just let it rust. Everydime you can make back counts...and it is amazing how that stuff can add up. I managed to make close to $3000 a couple years ago parting out an engineless FC3S...people WILL buy anything...especially if you're patient.

Also, the guages and dash from the 1jz...no, you can't get much for them in the states but they make these things called boats the actually float on water! Not only do they float but they go from country to country...with stuff on them!;) Just because you live in the states doesn't mean it's gotta be sold here. $25+shipping to england or Australia would be a badass deal for a RHD dash and it would only go to help my project.
