Hi.

I've found a supra that I'm really interested in. It's anthracite. I have never seen that color before.

So I just qonder excactly how rare is that color?
Does anyone have any figures on how many there could be out there with that color?

Rare enough that there were two of them at the local SoCal Fast 5 meet-up, and would have been 3 if I didn't have to work too late to go home to pick mine up. I think that would have made it the most common color in attendance, actually. That might be because the color is popular with enthusiasts, though?

Also, my TT targa-top tells me that it's a '94, but it's an 1A1 (the paint color for Anthracite), so either that chart or my door sticker is off (I'll let you decide which to put more stock in).

If it's the right car for you, the price isn't bad, and you dig the color, go for it! I get many compliments on the color. My g/f's Mom loves it...

It is a rare color. One of the more rare colors. I know several have been totalled as well.

I've never seen one in person, so it's pretty rare! Unless the that color came on the 4runners and tundra's then i've seen plenty. I do know that the RSX-S has a similar color.

All Australian A80s are ex Japanese. This isn't 100% accurate, but here are the colors currently for sale here as reported by their owners:

Black(73)
Blue(20)
Brown(1)
Gold(3)
Green(6)
Grey(13)
Orange(4)
Purple(6)
Red(28)
Silver(89)
White(59)
Yellow(2)

Silver is definitely the most common here. Yellow would probably be the rarest. I've never seen one in person. Some of those are resprays or custom colors.

One thing to note about Baltic Blue is that it ages very poorly. It might be the sun in Australia, but every BB car I've seen the paint is coming off the roof and hood.

But the big question is, is this the anthracite?

Johan, my car is the original Anthrocite version linked to Craigslist by DTM88. The car you're looking at is hard to distinguish. The top photo looks more true to the brownish factory color. The second photo takes on more of a gunmetal hue which is not correct, but could just be an affect of the place it was shot. Nice looking car.
