I just leave my car in D when I am going from a dead stop. Then I put my left foot on the brake and hold it down firmly while pushing the gas pedal down. I usually get the rpm's up to about 1700-1800 and then while flooring the gas pedal take your foot off the brake and you will launch really well. Good luck
How on earth did you launch your car at 3k without spinning the tires first? My car wont hold more than 1800rpm from brake standing without spinning the tires
I have used the ebrake before and if you boost the car up to around 2200rpm and then launch the tires go up in smoke. I tried that with new tires also and they just spin with that kind of launch.
