How would you calculate how large intercooler do you need for your application?

What would be the optimal size for
300rwhp
400rwhp
500rwhp
600rwhp

My understanding is that not always bigger is better, because it takes time to fill it with air and that contributes to greater lag.

I just went with twin stocks...........No bad lag here

How did you place them? One behind the other?

Also one more question is which intercooler would perform better?
With larger front surface, bet thiner or, smaller surface, but thichker. My intuition suggests, that in theory I should use as big surface as possible and adjust the thickness according to HP needs.

I put them in a "/_" config. 1 is actually in the stock position. works great!!!!!

More surface area is better than thickness. Delta T is greater on the front surface (since the incoming air has not "heated up" yet), therefore the efficiency decreases with thickness as Delta T is decreased.
