Hello,

I've tried to fix an exhaust leak around the threads of the bolt that's plugging the WB02 bung on my downpipe.

I've tried permaseal orange/black, gasket paper/metal, and tightening.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure pipe thread tape will work on high temp exhaust applications. So I haven't tried this yet.

Thanks,

Maury

Well,

I took out the plug bolt today, no signs of exhaust blow by. It appears that it was loose before and not a tight/flat seal.

However, there was still a leak. And I found it. A small pinhole leak on top of the bung/nut welded on the downpipe.

So tonight I filled with exhaust crack/leak fixer stuff from pep boys. I'll let this dry overnight and see if it seals the small leak.

By the looks of the package, it can seal cracks and drys as hard as a weld! And withstands the heat. JB weld is only good to 300 degrees F. The package on this stuff shows an exhaust and a exhaust manifold being fixed by this stuff. Hope it works.

I'll update tomorrow.
