So I know the Auto tranny's are 4 speed but I swear I keep counting 5 in mine!!

Is there some kind of special over drive on Supra's that make it feel like there are 5 gears? I'll take a video of it tomorrow..

Your question is a logical one, I actually got worried the first time I went WOT on the highway in my Auto because the RPMs dropped and came back up when the converter locked up (what your thinking is a gear change)...but I quickly figured out it was the lockup. Your sig cars and notes under them, on the other hand, will get you eternal flamage. GL

No need to flame the OP, it's a valid question if you havent had an auto car before.

But yes, like others have said, it's the converter lockup that makes it feel like it has an extra gear.

lock up torque converter. my 94 previa also felt like 5 speed auto when it came in and out of lockup in 4th.
