Is it best to run the narrowest tire on the widest wheel. My friend is getting custom wheels for an 87 300zx turbo in 9,10 inch and was recommended 275/35/18 or 285/35/18 for the 10 incher and 245/40/18 for the 9 ers. How will going wider/narrower affect understeer/oversteer. I read somewhere that a wheel tire ratio of .85-.95/ 1 is ideal is this correct. I know this is not a Supra Q but I felt this was the right forum to post in thanks guys for any info.

Is there a web site that has info on this as I am curious myself.

You want to stay in the upper 80's to low 90's (between 88 and 92%) for a street car with low profile tires on 18" rims. Anything higher is more of a race setup with some tradeoffs like mileage. I wouldn't run anything lower.

Later, Steve
