I just picked up a 90 Mk3 and the check engine light is always on. I checked the codes and it threw me a knock sensor code. Is this the reason the light is always on under driving condtions? Also, there is now comming on a radiator(?) light or what looks like one in the upper left hand corner of the dash. What's it mean?

I've changed all the fluids since it's purchase a few weeks ago. It isn't using any oil or coolant, btw.

Thanks!

The knock sensor could be damaged or the wiring is damaged to it. I don't think your engine would run correctly if the knock sensor was sensing knock. Also the radiator light (looks like the Greek Parthenon (or to some people, a bird cage) is an indication that the radiator overflow tank is empty. Check that tank and the float in the bottom of it.
