Today while I was driving everything was running fine, but when I put the car in neutral at a stoplight, the idle jumped to 3k RPM and stayed there. I cruised into a parking lot and shut her down, then restarted. The idle was normal again.

I drove about 10 more minutes, then parked the car for a couple hours. I went back to restart it, and the idle jumped to 3500. I shut the car off and popped the hood, the fuel pressure regulator guage showed 40psi?? The fuel pump stayed on. I disconnected the battery and the fuel pump went off. I connected again, started her up, idle was high, shut the engine down, fuel pump stayed on again.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas of what it could be?

Turn it on, with the Hood up. See if the Throttle is physically stuck open.

The throttle is operating normally, and the pedal assembly is not screwed up at all. It must be something else.

Pop the intercooler line going to the throttle body and get a visual on your butterfly to make sure it is closed. If it is look for vacuum leaks and possibly an IAC that shit the bed.
