I am trying to debate between NA vs Turbo for insurance and my budget reasons. Instead of going Turbo right now and worrying bout having enough money for car in long run. Should I get NA and fix it up in year or 2 when I do and if have money?

how much does it cost to get a basic turbo system added onto NA?

What other mods can NA handle other than turbo?

What effect do the standard Turbo BPUs have on NA Supra?(intake, downpipe, exhaust)

How much should I be looking to spend in NA upgrades not including the Turbo option route.

THANKS

What do you really want? Look, turbos are shrinking in #s. If you get an n/a, it will cost some bucks to turbo it. On the other hand, you have a car that hasn't been dogged to modify. The choice is yours. Used M3, new n/a 350 Z, used TT, or modify a used n/a in good shape...... Good Luck
Best Wishes.

Well, I I would love to own a original turbo.
OK, tell me this deal if there is a 93 turbo for sale auto, 82000 miles on it. for 19900.
driven by 50 year old woman its entire life and those are freeway miles.
IS it worth it?
Right now, I am into supra for looks also.
Fixing it up comes later on for me.
I would really love a supra with like 40k miles or less. Want it to be as new as I can get for what I can spend.
which is bout 20k
so.....yeah

Less than 40k? Whew! There are some out there, but few & far between. Automatics can go- they keep the boost on, so don't be too discouraged. Also there is the "manumatic" option. This can be a formidable opponent for roadracers!
a conversion is expensive, a labor intensive. Check with a forum named DaveH for advice. One of the upgrade parts suppliers referred to him as a "tuner". This dude knows his "stuff"

I'm an average shifter & I still love to chose my own gears. If I dragged raced, I'd go auto for consistancy. Get the best car at the best price!:D

dude... i was in the same situation... look... I was on the same budget and i was looking forever... couldn't find the right TT so I opted for the 5-spd N/A... it is beautiful... Targa, leather, 18,000 miles on it... owned by a asst. manager of toyotas wife... 1 of their 5 cars in VA... I have no complaints... as of now... I have bought all of my exterior mods... but i am not putting them on until my supra is internally finished...

right now I am piecing together a mean turbo kit for my N/A... I want 450 rwhp... thats all I would want out of a TT anyways... and it is very possible to do the conversion I have a long list of stuff I have to get for it... but it will cost me an estimated $ 7000-8000 by the time im done the turbo upgrade, hopefully not too much more...

I have already done some of the BPU's to make this supra run with or out perform stock TT's once the turbo is added... HKS super dragger exhaust, stage 3 clutch to beef up the 5-spd, blow-proof bell housing, diveshaft, cams, pulleys, suspension and brakes... its a lot of work... but at the same time... its fun... I am happy with my choice... I am really learning a lot about how everything works... and how to install it myself... its fun buying stuff piece by piece, everytime i buy something im one step closer... and im almost there... good luck... and remember anythings possible...

just wondering about your exhaust? how long've you had it, what are you likes and dislikes? did u put that on your self too? how hard was that , and how'd u get the car up high enough to work on. im looking at it..but i live in PA and dont want it to rust out in the first two years.
thanks,
Bob

Hey dude, whats up? i dont know if i asked you this before, but how old r u. im 17 just to let you know. i would love to cruise sometime but i dont get out of my area much, but i could probably get out your way if i made an effort to learn roads. i would love to see your car and hear the exhaust...that is a critical part in my decisions, along with how it holds up. i really want it either way but i just hafta ask myself is 700 bucks for 2-3 years worth the risk. the the only trouble w/non stainless piping...but i love its look and on the computer it sounds good. how is it for a 70mph cruise? id like to ride in your car and see what the extra mods do over just my air intake. h*ll id love to drive it...but im not up to manual standars yet(so im not even gonna ask). the only manual thing ive driven was a early 90's ford escort and i did ok, but it was only in a parking lot. :p anyhow...any other supras in the PA/NJ area wanna get a mini meet going? maybe ill see you at this year "The Meet" also.
i would like to meet up some time in the next month or two tho. so let me know what days your around im available mainly on saturdays, but not the saturday a week from tommorow.

hey, i put philly on there cuz if i put downingtown , no one would know where the h*ll that is. i live in chester county; Downingtown Pa. so im about 45 mins from philly. on the other hand my cousins live in mount laurel. how close to you is that. maybe ill go crash there for a weekend. nice cars are not that plentiful around here...imports i mean. mustangs and camaros are all over the place but their quality turns me away from considering them nice. my ex girlfriend has a stealth, and theres a few 3kgts here but i dont really hang with those guys. so the only thing i usually cruise with is a grand am gt...which i ran and beat :p . are your rx7 and zx guys TT or na? well just let me know how far you'd think it'd be if im 45 out from philly.
how old are u guys tho. the only reason i ask is cuz id feel wierd being so young if you guys are like 28-30+. just wondering, id still come either way tho. just wanna know what to expect.
just wandering...those 50+ yrs. mkiv guys...are they TT.. :D i know where to look if i decide to just buy a TT if so

anyway, hit me back, or on aol my screenname; its TRUBO32....no its not turbo...its trubo...just so you know.
talk to you later
Bob
