I just replaced my cam position sensor 7MGTE. Before installing, i lined up the drilled mark on the CPS with the little triangle grove on the splines, there's two rounded grooves on the CPS and ONE triangle groove so the triangular one is the one i matched the drilled mark to. Car started up fine and after letting it warm up and jumping Te1 and E1, The farthest it would let me set timing to was 5 degrees. NOTE: I was using the timing light that uses a number input so if i aim for 10 degrees on the gun, i have to adjust to zero on the pulley/ 0 on the gun, 10 on the puley so visa versa. What am i doing wrong ?? It's annoying cuz it won't let me receive full power.

I set my number one piston to 0 degrees TDC with cam lobe pointing up. I have a feeling I know what im doing wrong. WHen im at TDC, and i align the drill marks on my CPS and place it in the head, the notches internally inside the CPS never match up to where it looks like it should, it always moves to the left or the right, I have a feeling my TDC 0 degrees mark on my pulley is off a little bit, throwing my CPS installation off as well. Does this sound right ? I'll try moving the Crank pulley a little more than when it shows 0 degrees

The car will feel sluggish if the timing is off. To be sure, set the motor to TDC and check to see if the cam gears are lined up with their corresponding notches above it. Everything else, sounds like youre doing right.

Ya the CPS is a bitch to put in right man. You might have to rotate it and push and the same time to get the teeth to line up right
