im planning on installing a subs and an amp. I went to cartoys to get a price for the install since i already have the amp (800w kendwood) and the subs (2x800w Kenwoods).

I want to get it all installed very clean without drilling any holes into my firewall to get into the engine area to get to the battery. They said they can do that, but they would need to remove the fender to do so and they're gonna charge me for doing that aswell. Somewhere around $120 i believe. And they want me to get a $90 wiring kit. And for deck install theres a fee just for the harness for it.

I need to get a new deck aswell, to complete the set. Ultimately do you guys think the pricing is justified for what im asking them to do?

thanks

Getting a custom installation is very costly, but well worth it in the end. I don't see why you would want to remove the fender though, just try to get the wirings through the driver's firewall.

I mean if they have to drill anything, it'll prob be minor. Here's a tip for getting custom shit done though; think big. What I mean is, whatever you are installing, make sure you can reuse it for when you go bigger.

The owner who prev owned my car installed a stupid amp right in the middle of the hatch. There's no good room to install any subs. I would have to relocate the amp, and get new hatch moldings made to do this. I just fucked it and kept it as it is.

pricing doesn't seem too bad. Get your own wiring kit though because their price seems a bit steep on that.

Something is not right. I will say this. I just ran 0 guage power wire (twice as thick as 4 guage) to the back of my car to power my amps and I did not have to remove anything excpet the kick panel and the carpet. It was actually very easy. I had heard form many people that it is a pita but I found it to be a snap. You clearly do not have to remove the fender. You just go through the stock yellow wiring grommet.

well, its all taken care of now. I got it all in without any drilling. I just ran it through that hole in the engine bay on the drivers side.

it worked out good.

all thats left is to make some custom brackets for the door speakers.

Sounds like you found what I was talking about. Sweet! Glad to hear everything is progressing.

Wow! congrats! I found it difficult to run my 4 gauge power wire to the back; I can't imagine running a 0 gauge cable.

Good prices and highly recommended by many car audio enthusiasts.
they are the best i dealt with. especially that their RCA cable is shielded pretty good, thick, and comes with remote turn on built in. i just added stinger 4 channel rca cable (really nice as well) and installed the system my self. the amp kit for the 4g+ the 4 channel rca + 12 gauge sub wire (included in kit but i neede more) cost me a total of $70 shipped.
you shouldnt need to drill the body, run the rca cables from the passenger side an the power cable from the driver side.
a typical installtion for the whole thing + the amps tunning should cost around $75 and they should give warrantty on their work.
