I have a 98TT BPU auto and I just installed cam gears. I set them at -3 Exhaust and +1 Intake until I can get it to the dyno. But now my idle is about 200RPM lower than before and it is a little lumpy. Is this normal for cam gears or did I mess up something??? Any ideas??

Thanks in advance,
Brian

Cam gears can make the idle a little rough, but I have never heard of the idle droping as much as 200 rpm's for only -3 degrees exhaust. I have mine set at -4, +1 and only suffer a very slight difference in idle. Since all aftermarket cams gears are different it is best to dyno tune them for max results. I remember a post not long ago saying each aftermarket cam gear could be off by as much as 6 degrees.

It is more like 100-150RPM's, but it kinda bounces up and down so it is hard to tell. I will try to get to a dyno soon and get them dialed in. Thanks for everyone's help.
