If and when I would remove the intake manifold to polish it, do I have to replace the gasket upon reinstallation? Is it required or would it just be recommended since it is a metal gasket unlike a valve cover gasket which is rubber? I am hand polishing my engine bay and am just wondering so I would know if I needed to purchase a new gasket. Thanks in advance for any replies.

OK, sorry I didn't search first. I think I found my answer in an old post. It looks like I probably should replace the gasket. I just wanted to apologize before I get told to do this anyway.

SEARCH! SEARCH! SEARCH! :D.

Actually even if you didn't find your answer during your search my first thought would be to go ahead and replace it anyway. It's much easier to do it now and not that expensive -vs- finding out you have a vacuum leak after putting everything back together. I'm never comfortable ever using a used gasket unless I don't have a choice at the time.

Just my 2 pesos
