Just a random car thought, but I was wondering what the point of Individual throttle bodies was?

The first thought that came to mind was, oh, better air flow, less turbulence I suppose and a more direct air flow.
But, there is generally only one intake open at a time? So its not like each cylinder is fighting for air?

So, am I missing something obvious?:nuts:

Its more precise, all cylinders get the same amount which makes for a more stable tune....or so iv heard.

On an NA car is sounds fantastic too.
Response is pretty quick too.

Take for example, the plenum is after the throttle body on the 2JZ, air remains pressurised (all-be-it for a very insignificant time on the road) but on the track it can be the difference. Driving an ITB equipped car is a nice experience, I highly recommend it.
